Erik has been involved with lending for 16 years, starting when he was 19 years old; he brokered his first loan while still in college. He had a knack for connecting people with the right deal and went on to serve as a loan officer, regional manager, and vice president for different lenders in addition to owning his own company. He worked in Pittsburgh, Chicago and Austin, Texas, before coming to Southern Nevada and its real estate market eight years ago.
Erik’s first Henderson office was on Corporate Circle Drive. “While it was a nice place, the move to the current office on Lake Mead Parkway in the Water Street District in 2007 is even better,” he said. “In addition to the great location, nearby freeway access and affordable rent, this part of Henderson is undeserved by the mortgage lending industry, so it’s a win-win situation for residents, business owners, and the VanDyk team. Plus we’re close to many stores and services with Lake Mead Crossing across the street and Water Street just around the corner.”
Though work brought Erik to Henderson, his enjoyment of the region has kept him here. “This area is great, particularly with the many activities, festivals and concerts,” he said. “I love historic Henderson and Water Street District. It’s like living in a small town with the benefits of a big town just a few miles away.” He bought a house in the area too. “I wanted to be ‘townie.’”
