Henderson Events Plaza
It's the state's first public outdoor events plaza, and it's home to a variety of performances and activities throughout the year.
The events plaza is the product of some pretty big thinking. It encompasses 2.7 acres with 60,000 square feet of flexible, programmable event space. A 4,000-square-foot shaded canopy amphitheatre provides seating out of the sun for up to 400 people, along with tiered lawn seating for 200 and premier seating for 200. There's also The Patio, a 4,000-square-foot shaded area with possibilities as wide open as the space itself.
The Plaza also includes The Paseo Canopy, an expansive 22,000-square-foot event space with a shaded canopy. You'll also find an interactive dry deck water feature complete with bench seating and a comfortable grassy spot that's perfect for anything from picnicking to daydreaming.
The Veterans Memorial Wall – the only monument of its kind in southern Nevada – is also located in the Plaza.
A wealth of services and capabilities maximize the possibilities of this unique event space, including full-service restroom facilities, a parking garage that accommodates up to 400 vehicles, full lighting capabilities for evening events and a strategically placed power distribution center with an overall electrical capacity of 1,000 amps.
You'll find the Henderson Events Plaza adjacent to City Hall.

Libraries
The Gibson Library thinks outside the book. Beyond stack after stack of great reads, you'll also find book clubs, computer clubs, research assistance, homework help, downloadable media, story times, puppet shows, arts, crafts and more.
The library comprises 16,000 square feet and has been constructed in the same location as the first Henderson Public Library. It's named for State Senator James Isaac Gibson, longtime resident and statesman who lived from 1925 to 1988. The Gibson Library also is home to the Mary Theresa Boyd Children's Room – a unique space for young people provided by generous gifts from the Eldorado Casino. The room is named after the late wife of local gaming legend Sam Boyd.
