As one of the newest members of the Water Street District Business Association, Emery’s La Barista Catering & Restaurant has been serving the Henderson area and the Las Vegas Valley for more than eight years. Emery’s is open for lunch and dinner and offers classic Italian dishes that are born from Emilia-Romagna Northern Italian style of cooking.
Emery’s is a family-run restaurant, and whether you experience Emery’s for lunch or dinner, you are sure to receive a friendly welcome from Emery Childress or his wife, Brenda, or even one of their two sons who followed in the family footsteps, Paul and Steve. “Regulars” will tell you that Emery’s has a wide variety of menu options and lunch favorites, including the popular grilled eggplant ciabatta sandwich, the classic burger and the famous southwest chopped chicken salad. For dinner, you can find lemon chicken, veal dishes or, a fan favorite, Emery’s signature dish called Chicken Mancini, which offers fillets of chicken sautéed with shallots, garlic and mushrooms in a sherry cream sauce.
“The secret to great Italian food is the sauce, and it if it has more than five ingredients it is not Italian,” said Emery. “The other secret ingredient to great Italian food is love. If you have passion for preparing food, then it will be reflected in the taste and quality of the dish.”
Emery fell in love with Italian food when he lived in New York City and worked in the restaurant business. When he moved to Henderson in 1987, he mastered the culinary craft working in gourmet Italian restaurants at Caesars Palace and Monte Carlo before opening his own restaurant in downtown Henderson. Emery has grown the family business to include a full bar with daily Happy Hour specials, catering, and private parties on site for any occasion.
Emery’s Restaurant is open for lunch Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and the restaurant is open for dinner on Thursday through Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Catering services are available at any time.
