Henderson Hobbies
115 S. Water Street
Henderson, Nevada 89015

Henderson’s only authentic hobby store, Henderson Hobbies, opened in December on Water Street and offers everything a hobby lover could ever wish for – from remote control cars, airplanes, boats and a large selection of metal and plastic models, to paints, puzzles, doll houses, kites, puppets, educational books and tools and scale model kits for all ages.
Ed Iulo, the owner of Henderson Hobbies, has been collecting plastic model kits as his own personal hobby since the 70s. As a hobby enthusiast, Ed realized there was a need for a hobby store in the Henderson area and chose to open one on Water Street. Henderson Hobbies is the only hobby store between Las Vegas and Kingman, Ariz.
“Hobbies have always been an important part of people’s lives, but I have seen an even bigger interest in hobbies since the downturn of the economy,” Iulo said. “People want the opportunity to escape, and having a hobby like constructing a model kit airplane or car, gives them an outlet to take a break with a leisure activity.”
Ed picked Water Street as the location for his store because he didn’t want to be in a standard strip mall or behind an office building. He wanted a storefront with pedestrian traffic where people could step into a new world directly from the sidewalk. And that is what he found along Water Street.
The store hosts monthly meetings for car building hobbyists to meet and discuss current projects and latest trends. Henderson Hobbies has something for everyone and is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
