Juan’s Flaming Fajitas & Cantina
Juan Vazquez, who grew up in the small town of Ada, Oklahoma, knows what good, authentic Mexican food should taste like. His uncle owned and operated no fewer than six restaurants in the area where Juan learned first-hand how to prepare fresh, delicious food. After relocating to Henderson in 1996, Juan finally realized his dream in 2013 to launch his own restaurant. With its signature table-side presentation of flaming chicken, beef and pork, Juan’s Flaming Fajitas & Cantina was born at its initial location on West Tropicana.
In 2018, with help from two significant grants from the City of Henderson, Juan built his second location on Water Street from the ground up. And the rest, as they say, is history. Today, Juan’s Flaming Fajitas, which employs more than 100, is one of the most bustling spots on Water Street, drawing customers from Green Valley, Anthem, Lake Las Vegas, Cadence and Calico Ridge and beyond – all in pursuit of flaming deliciousness, live sports and a vibe that feels like small town camaraderie.
Juan credits next door neighbor, Lovelady Brewing Company, for attracting him to the area, which, coincidentally, is only eight minutes from home. “I have a fondness for craft beer and spent considerable time at Lovelady,” said Juan. “I fell in love with Water Street, which reminded me of Ada. That’s all the proof I needed that this was the place for my second restaurant.”
