Walk into Gold Casters Jewelry and walk into a fantasy land of diamonds, gold, pearls, precious gemstones, vintage and estate jewelry, watches and a generous sprinkling of antique collectibles. Owner and proprietor, Michael Holland, and his duo of uber talented craftsmen jewelers, including Filiberto Martinez and Joe Angel, who is still making custom creations at the young age of 81, have been adorning Henderson residents with jewels since 1983.

Michael, who ascribes to a Buy-Sell-Trade model of operation, is especially fond of negotiating deals with his customers, always ensuring both parties get what they want and need to make the deal work. ‘I value customer satisfaction over profit,” said Michael. “And that’s what keeps them coming back year after year,” he says, citing a story of three generations of Henderson women who combined their individual wedding rings to create one spectacular ring for a beloved granddaughter.

While it’s everyday folks who keep Gold Casters going, the occasional celebrity shopper like Celine Dion is proof positive of just how special this place is. Celine, who was brought to the boutique by Coco LaCroix, wife of former Colorado Avalanche President and General Manager Pierre La Croix, made a haul on par with a pirate’s bounty that, according to Michael, will forever be considered Gold Caster’s most spectacular day.

Michael learned the jewelry business in Hyannis Port in the Cape Cod region and apprenticed under a Dutch Jeweler at MJ Christensen Diamonds before venturing out on his own. In 1983, he purchased the small, 700-square-foot building that has been repeatedly expanded and renovated to become the 2,000-square-foot Gold Casters of today.
